Android Oreo on the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus doesn’t support Project Treble flash alert on call sms pro 2

Android Oreo for the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus doesn’t include support for Project Treble, dashing hopes of fast updates for the devices in future. The revelation comes from SamMobile following the Oreo rollout to the aforementioned devices in Germany earlier today.

Project Treble is a recent Google initiative aimed at simplifying and speeding up the way Android updates are handled. The system is supposed to be supported by every device that launches with Android Oreo, however, it’s also open to devices are updated to the new software at a later date.

Though this latest news doesn’t permanently rule out Project Treble support on the S8 and S8 Plus, it means that, for now, the devices won’t benefit from the potentially quicker update times.

For a company that has an already poor reputation when it comes to rollout speeds, this is going to come as a big blow for fans; even if Samsung does implement support in the future, it won’t matter much unless this happens before the Android P rollout (which will be the next major update that S8 owners are likely to care about).
