The time for testing Android 8.0 Oreo is coming to a close for the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus. The company has confirmed that the Oreo beta testing program for Samsung’s flagship phones will end on Friday, Jan. 26 in the US.
Samsung sent an update to members of the Oreo beta testing group, according to Droid Life, revealing the final date for the program. The company ended up releasing seven Oreo beta builds for people who signed up for the testing program, with the final beta build released last week. The beta test was made available for unlocked, T-Mobile, and Sprint Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus models in the US.
Unfortunately Samsung’s message did not state when the final, non-beta Oreo update will be released for the Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus, though the company did state it will release the final build as soon as it can.
In addition to all of the features Google included in Android 8.0 Oreo, the update will also bring with it the company’s own Samsung Experience 9.0 software version. That will include the Dual Messenger feature that was first launched on the Note 8, which supports the use of two messaging accounts. It will also add an improved Samsung keyboard and many more additions, improvements, and bug fixes.
